Get Involved
Each year thousands of nurses, doctors, individual and corporate donors, and volunteers devote their time and resources to Reach Out and Read programs in their local communities.
In the 13 years since the first Reach Out and Read site in the state launched at the University of Virginia Hospital, ROR has made significant progress, growing the program from one that served 44,000 children in its first few years to our current impact on more than 100,000 youths.
ROR VA would love to someday reach every child in Virginia who is 5 years old and younger, but we can't do it without you.
Here's How You Can Help:
Sponsor a Book Drive (We'll provide you with boxes. Download to read and print, a book drive guide that will help you get started. 2 MB PDF doc)
Lead a Virtual Book Drive, where your supporters donate the cost of one or more books. It costs $40 to purchase the 10 books that a child receives from a participating Reach Out and Read pediatrician between ages 6 months and five years.
Volunteer to read in a local pediatric clinic. Contact us for more information.
Adopt a RORVA Clinic where you can do all of the above, create a literacy corner and more.
In whatever way you choose, give the gift of reading to a child today.
